My pastor recently delivered a powerful message called, “POV: Is Jesus the only way to heaven?” as part of his current teaching series. His words not only encouraged me, but they also convicted me.
The message made me realize that I’ve been so focused on living my life as a witness, creating a safe space for Christian women to feel seen, and building this platform that I’ve never actually stopped to just explicitly share the Gospel here.
Yes, I’ve written about Jesus’s love and sacrifice. I’ve reminded you that your worth and identity are rooted in Him. We even did a whole series on how to read and study the Bible! All of those things matter for pointing people to Christ. But today, I want to strip away the fluff and simply share the Good News: Jesus Christ died for the sins of humanity so that we could have the opportunity to live with God in eternity forever.
The Problem: Separation
In the beginning, God created Adam and Eve, designing human beings in His own image and likeness. He charged them to fill the earth and walk in authority (Genesis 1:26-28). Tragically, they chose to disobey God’s one boundary of not eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:16-17). That single act of disobedience (Genesis 3) allowed sin to enter the world, fracturing humanity and completely separating us from a Holy God who cannot co-exist with sin.
As time went on, sin ravaged the earth. It is the root cause of the chaos, heartbreak, evil, and division we still see on our newsfeeds and all around us every single day. But God’s story didn’t end with our failure. Because He loved us so deeply, He set a rescue plan in motion: He sent His only Son, Jesus, to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins and give us the invaluable gift of salvation.
The Solution: The Sacrifice
Jesus—being fully man and fully God—is the only person who ever lived a completely sinless life. Because He was perfect, He was the only one qualified to pay our debt. He was beaten, mocked, and hung on a cross to die a humiliating death (Matthew 27:32-56). He willingly shed His blood to cover your sins and mine (1 Peter 3:18).
But death and the grave were not the end for Him. Three days after He died, Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 28:1-8). Today, He is alive and seated in Heaven at the right hand of God the Father. And He didn’t leave us alone; He sent the Holy Spirit to live inside every person who places their faith in Him.
Why Salvation Matters Today
Though this happened thousands of years ago, Jesus’s sacrifice is just as powerful and life-changing today as it was then. Because of Christ’s sacrifice, we all have the chance to spend eternity with Him. The disappointments of this world won’t be the end for those who accept Christ’s free gift of salvation! I anchor my entire life in this Good News, and I hope that after reading this, you will too.
Romans 10:9-10 reminds us: “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
If you have never confessed faith in Jesus Christ, I invite you to pray this prayer from your heart today:
Dear God,
I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins. I believe that He was raised from the dead after three days. Please come into my heart and save me. I want You to be the Savior and Lord of my life.
I pray this in Jesus’s name,
Amen.
Your Next Steps
If you just prayed that prayer, welcome to the family of God! Your very next step is to get connected with a Bible-teaching local church so you can grow in your faith and find community with other believers.
