4 Bible Teachers to Help You Mature Spiritually in 2026

Whether you’re a lifelong “Bible girly” or you’re just now carving out space for deep study, having a few trusted voices in your ear can make all the difference. In 2021, I shared 8 Bible teachers who helped me grow spiritually, and while those teachers are still on heavy rotation, my spiritual playlist has expanded for 2026.

If you’re looking to go deeper into the Word this year, here are four incredible Bible teachers who will challenge your heart, refresh your soul, and help you mature along your faith journey.

1. The Relatable Truth-Teller: Ian Simkins

Church: The Bridge Church (Tennessee)

If you’ve ever felt the tension between your faith and your doubt, Pastor Ian is for you. He is a true gem who doesn’t shy away from the “messy” parts of being human. His teachings are Christ-centered, funny, and incredibly relatable, focusing on how the Gospel meets us in our doubts. His series on mental health stays on repeat for me!

2. The Bridge-Builder: Pastor Rich Villodas

Church: New Life Fellowship (New York)

Pastor Rich is a true gift to the body of Christ! He’s all about spiritual transformation that changes how we live in the real world. I am obsessed with his church’s “5 Ms,” which emphasize emotional health and intentionally bridging racial, cultural, and gender barriers. His messages are deeply rooted in scripture and perfect for the woman who wants her faith to be as diverse and compassionate as the Kingdom of God.

3. The Solid Foundation: Dr. Maurice Pugh

Church: New Life Fellowship Arlington (Texas)

This is my home church, and I can’t say enough about the community here!  The church is extremely welcoming and a genuine group of people who want to serve and grow in the Lord. And you can see why because of the leadership.

Dr. Pugh is a “no-frills, no-gimmicks” kind of teacher. He breaks down the text line-by-line, so you don’t just understand the Word—you actually know how to apply it to your life on Monday morning.

4. The Bold Defender: Pastor Jerome Gay, Jr.

Church: Vision Church RDU (North Carolina)

I started following Pastor Jerome after a friend sent me a timely message he shared about current events, and I’ve been blown away ever since. He refuses to sugarcoat the truth. If you want a teacher who is serious about sound doctrine and applies the Word to the cultural issues we face today, check out his sermons on the Vision Church RDU app or YouTube channel.
